SCHOOL OF FOREIGN

           LANGUAGES

           BRIEF HISTORY
English Preparatory Education began with the opening of
English preparatory classes in the School of Medicine in 1978
and the School of Business in 1979. With the establishment of
Erciyes University on March 28, 1983, entire foreign language
education started to be carried out in the Foreign Language
Department. In 1998, the Foreign Language Department was
awarded the status of the School of Foreign Languages, and
since then, the foreign language education at our university
has been conducted by the School of Foreign Languages.
           VISION
COLLEGE The vision of the School of Foreign Languages is to teach our

students English with international standards, and other east-
ern and western languages on demand, benefiting from all
           sorts of development.
           MISSION

The mission of the School of Foreign Languages is to develop
the language profile of our entire university in order not to be
behind the times, believing that there is an indisputable need
for foreign language knowledge besides the field knowledge.
In general, our mission is to contribute to the role and vision of
our university in language education, and in a more concrete
sense, it is to teach our students a foreign language according
           to their ability and desire.
           GENERAL INFORMATION
           Instructional Perspective and Responsibilities

It is one of our basic principles to plan and conduct teaching
using more current and effective methods in an age when the
world is so small and information spreads so fast.
Our instructors, who work in a university with a dynamic
structure, constantly renew their knowledge and curricu-
lum with various adaptations in parallel with the developing
teaching technologies and methods. Our faculty members,
who embrace the philosophy of following the latest develop-
ments and constantly seek to increase the quality of teaching,
