Degree diploma and the title of Health Technician. Graduates
can work in University and Public Hospitals, Family Health
Units, Community Health Centers, Private Clinics and Assay
VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS (DGS) conducted by OSYM; they can switch to Biology, Nurs-
Laboratories.
If those who have completed the Medical Laboratory Tech-
niques program are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam

Operating Room Services Program

In this program, Health Technicians are educated to work in
operating room, surgical intensive care center and steriliza-
tion units. These health technicians ensure that all surgical
materials used in the operating room are prepared and used
during the operation, health technicians are directly involved
in all surgical teams and assist the surgeon during the opera-
tion. Health Technicians working in this field, under the super-
vision and supervision of a specialist physician, perform the
necessary procedures to complete the process without any
problems in accordance with the directives. Health Techni-
cians work in operating rooms, sterilization units, surgical
emergency services and intensive care units.

The duties of Health Technicians are as follows; Preparing the
environment, materials and equipment for the surgical proce-
dure, ensuring the material, equipment and environment are
suitable by staying outside the sterile field, helping the surgical
team and the physician in the sterile area, ensuring that the in-
struments, equipment and the environment are collected and
prepared for reprocessing after the surgical procedure, per-
forming the duties to be given by the responsible physician.
Operating Room Services educating is two years at the associ-
ate degree level. In the first year, theoretical courses and in the
second year, mostly applied education is given. Students do
their practical educating in Erciyes University and State Hospi-
tal Surgical Intensive Care Units.
Those who complete the program are awarded the Associate
Degree diploma and the title of Health Technician. Graduates
