Health Technicians carry out the following tasks for EEG,
EMG, sleep shots and evoked potential processes; making
the necessary device, electrode and material preparations,
preparing the process area, making final checks by operating
the relevant devices, keeping the devices ready by opening
them, preparing the electrode, EMG needles, nasal cannula,
thermistor, belt, finger probe and medicines, ensuring filling
in informed consent forms, informing the patient about the
procedure, assisting the physician during the EMG procedure,
placing the electrodes appropriately, ensuring the device cali-
bration, shooting in the appropriate protocol, ensuring the
cleaning and maintenance of the devices and materials used,
placing them in place, keeping all the records related to the
performed operations, preparing and presenting reports.
Graduates under the supervision of Neurology, Otolaryngolo-
gy, Psychiatry, Child, Chest Diseases and Physiology specialist
can work in the Public or Private Hospital Polyclinics, Electro-
encephalography, Arousal Potentials and Sleep Units.
Those who complete the program are awarded the Associate
Degree and Health Technician title. If those who have com-
pleted the Electroneurophysiology program are successful in
the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by OSYM; they can
switch to Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nursing, Nursing
and Health Services Undergraduate Programs.
First and Emergency Aid Program
In this program, Health Technicians are educated to apply
professionally emergency care outside the hospital. Health
technicians working in this field have received theoretical and
practical educating on pre-hospital emergency care and are
equivalent to the Paramedic title abroad. Health technicians
working in this field are graduates of the First and Emergency
Aid Program of Vocational Schools of Health Services.
Health technicians perform these tasks; making intravenous
intervention to the injured / patient, applying accepted emer-
