The 2024-2025 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held by the Council of Higher Education (CoHE). As part of the Council of Higher Education Excellence Awards 2024, Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Fatih Kaya, a faculty member at the Department of Energy Systems Engineering/ERU Faculty of Engineering, was awarded the “National Innovation Award” for his project entitled “Development of National Electrodes for Hydrogen Technologies”, conducted within H2FC Hydrogen Energy Research Group. The award was presented to Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Fatih Kaya and ERU Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Cevdet Kırpık by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Ministers, CoHE President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, Rectors of universities, academics and students attended the ceremony held at the Beştepe Nation’s Convention and Culture Center.

Following the speeches of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and CoHE President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, the CoHE Excellence Awards were presented.
