The results of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings for 2025, which aim to draw attention to sustainability issues and increase global environmental awareness, have been announced. As a result of the evaluation based on comprehensive criteria such as environmental sensitivity, energy and climate change management, waste policies, transportation planning, and general sustainability practices, our university achieved a remarkable international success by ranking 1st in Türkiye in both the Young Universities and Large-Scale Campuses Categories, and securing the 66th position worldwide among the greenest universities.
Great Success Achieved on International and National Scales
In the international ranking, which evaluated 1,745 universities worldwide, our university achieved an impressive rise of fourteen places compared to last year, securing 66th in the world and demonstrating a remarkable international achievement. Furthermore, by ranking 3rd among the 142 Turkish universities included in the ranking, it has also achieved a significant national success.
At the Global Top Among Large-Scale Campuses
In the evaluation based on campus size, our university was ranked 32nd in the world and 1st among Turkish universities.
Outstanding Success Among Young Universities
Our University achieved another significant milestone by entering the Top 50 Young Universities list, which evaluates universities under 50 years old. In this ranking, our university secured 25th in the world and 1st among Turkish universities.
Rising Performance in All Sub-Categories
In addition to its notable achievements in the rankings, our university has shown a significant increase in points. The total score in the UI GreenMetric 2025 evaluation rose from 8,585 to 8,775, reflecting a strengthened overall performance. The improvements in categories—from 1,350 to 1,400 in Setting and Infrastructure, 1,735 to 1,800 in Energy and Climate Change, 1,425 to 1,450 in Waste, 800 to 837.5 in Water, and 1,600 to 1,625 in Transportation—clearly demonstrate the university's systematic, determined, and multifaceted development in environment-focused practices.
