A ceremony was held at Erciyes Cultural Center by the ERU Faculty of Medicine on the occasion of “March 14 Medicine Day”.

ERU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. İsmail Dursun, Dean of Kayseri Faculty of Medicine/University of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. İlhami Çelik, Chairman of Kayseri Chamber of Medicine Assoc. Prof. Mehmet İlhan Şahin, Chief Physician of ERU Hospitals Prof. Dr. İbrahim Halil Kafadar, academics, and students attended the ceremony.

The video presentation prepared for the physicians of the ERU Medical Faculty Hospitals was shown first.

Rector Altun celebrated the March 14 Medicine Day of all healthcare professionals. He emphasized that this profession is sacred. He pointed out that the ERU Faculty of Medicine contributes to the country with its educational activities and continued as follows: “The faculty not only trains medical students or provides service for the patients’ treatment but also contributes significantly to the university thanks to scientific studies conducted by its academic staff members. Therefore, I would like to thank the academic staff members of the faculty.”

He also gave information about the new 800-bed additional service building of ERU Hospitals.

Dean Prof. Dr. İsmail Dursun said: “March 14 is not just a celebration for physicians. It is a symbol of an independence struggle, a resistance, and an ideal. While fulfilling the requirements of modern medicine, we must continue to carry out this profession with our respect for human life, our ethical principles, and our belief in the sanctity of our profession.”

Prof. Dr. İlhami Çelik celebrated the March 14 Medicine Day of all healthcare professionals.

Assoc. Prof. Mehmet İlhan Şahin said: “Our country has world-renowned doctors who have trained a large number of qualified physicians. I believe that the development of the Faculty of Medicine is one of the most significant indicators of our country's progress.”

Student Representative Akın Can Aydın and Representative of Medical Residents Dr. Recep Tayyip Yıldırım each made a speech.

Following the speeches, Asım Mücteba Tekin performed a piano recital.

Then, the physicians who conducted high-quality academic studies were presented with their certificates of appreciation. In addition, a gowning ceremony was held for the faculty members who were granted new academic titles.
