The work Kitâbü’l-Meşâri‘ ve’lMutârahât by Shihāb al-Dīn al-Suhrawardī (d. 587/1191), the founder of the Ishrāqī school, was prepared in three volumes as a critical edition with Turkish translation by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kamil CİHAN and Assoc. Prof. Salih YALIN, faculty members of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, based on copies found in various manuscript libraries. It was published by the Manuscript Institution of Türkiye, making it accessible to the academic community.

The publication of the critical edition and translation of this work, which holds an important place in the Islamic philosophical tradition, constitutes a significant scholarly contribution, as it enables the study of Suhrawardī’s thought based on a more reliable text.

This study, conducted by the faculty members of the Faculty of Theology at ERU, not only contributes to research in the field of Islamic philosophy but also provides an important service in terms of the scholarly editing and publication of manuscript works.
