A Device Donated by a Philanthropist to ERU Hospitals Will Make Diagnosis, Treatment, and Follow-up Procedures Easier
The device, which includes a cabinet-type respiratory function testing system that performs diffusion and static measurements, was donated to the hospital by Turkuaz Seramik Inc. for use at the Department of Pulmonary Disease/ERU Faculty of Medicine.
In his statement regarding the donation of the device to the hospital, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Halil Kafadar, Chief Physician of ERU Hospitals, said, "I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Abidin Özkaya, Chairman of the Board of Turkuaz Seramik, and to Rector Altun for their support."
Dr. Bilal Rabahoğlu, a faculty member at the Department of Pulmonary Diseases, said: “The Pulmonary Diseases Clinic is an important center for the treatment planning of respiratory diseases, including Kayseri and surrounding provinces. The respiratory function testing devices are essential for the identification of these diseases, starting treatment, and performing follow-up. Together with the body plethysmography device, the aerosol provocation system, which facilitates the performance of some tests that are valuable in the diagnosis of asthma and is highly sensitive with its ultrasonic head, has superior features in terms of minimizing calibration error, measuring static lung volumes with a single breath measurement, and presenting and comparing Z scores integrated into the measurements.”
