As part of the program, “Sector on Campus”, implemented within the framework of the protocol between the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Council of Higher Education to bring together the knowledge of technology eco-system with students, the “Introduction to Battery Management Systems Design” course started to be taught in the 2024 Fall Term of our university in cooperation with the program stakeholders, Erciyes University and ASPILSAN Energy.
ERU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun and ASPILSAN Energy Director General Prof. Dr. Ahmet Turan Özdemir came together with the students and attended the course which was included in the curriculum of the Faculty of Engineering.
Rector Altun said that the course would be useful for the students to plan their careers. He told that they want to raise awareness to sustain these activities. He thanked those who contributed to the organization of the process.
ASPILSAN Energy Director General Prof. Dr. Ahmet Turan Özdemir stated in his speech that the Sector on Campus program will contribute significantly to the training of qualified engineers by increasing the interaction between academia and industry. He emphasized that the Introduction to Battery Management Systems Design course will strengthen the connection between academia, industry and the private sector by introducing students to the most up-to-date industry practices.
Prof. Dr. Özdemir stated that the content of the course is regarding the battery design, testing and safety, and various battery technologies and said: “This program aims to meet the significant need for battery expertise. The Introduction to Battery Management Systems Design course, taught by ASPILSAN Energy's experienced engineers who are experts in their fields, also forms a crucial basis for future engineers and researchers who want to specialize in this field. In the field of university-industry cooperation model applications, which have been discussed for years, but we have not had satisfactory results, the Sector on Campus program will contribute significantly to planning and updating the curricula according to the needs of the industry.”
The joint step taken by our university and ASPILSAN Energy to train the human resource needed by the sector in the field of technology and engineering aims to contribute significantly to Türkiye's national technology move and ecosystem.
