ERU has been awarded the Sports-Friendly Campus First Prize by the Council of Higher Education

Our university has been awarded the “Sports-Friendly Campus” first prize by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

The universities eligible for this prestigious recognition were announced as part of YÖK’s “Sports-Friendly Campus” project, which aims to support students and staff in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and engaging in physical activity.

The award ceremony was hosted by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University and attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the İlim Yayma Foundation Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, university rectors, academics, and students.

Among the universities deemed worthy of receiving the award, our university was granted the “Sports-Friendly Campus” award thanks to its strong support for sports, sufficient number of sports facilities and equipment, the organization of sports courses and events for students, as well as its supportive and encouraging environment for student-athletes.

At the ceremony, the award was presented to our Rector by Minister Osman Aşkın Bak, YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan.

Following the award ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun stated that the university administration has always maintained a management approach that supports not only education and research activities but also sports and artistic programs for students and staff.

Emphasizing that they will continue to expand sports activities, Rector Altun expressed that they are happy and proud to have been awarded the Sports-Friendly Campus first prize. He also thanked the academic and administrative staff, as well as the students, who contributed to receiving the award.
