The ERU Neuroscience Club of the Faculty of Medicine held a symposium on Music and Brain.
ERU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. İsmail Dursun, academics, and students attended the event held at Sabancı Cultural Complex.
Delivering a speech after a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, Rector Altun said that the effects of music on human health are widely known.
He underlined that scientific programs organized by the students are important and said: “The human brain is programmed in such a way that there is no such thing as fatigue. We can reach the desired level by loading the brain in a controlled way.”
Prof. Dr. İsmail Dursun said that life, like music, is a rhythm.
Prof. Dr. Füsun Ferda Erdoğan, an advisor to the club and a faculty member at the Faculty of Medicine, thanked those who contributed to the organization of the symposium.
Following the speeches, the symposium continued with presentations made by the faculty members of the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Fine Arts.
