The new Emergency Annex Building of ERU Medical Faculty Hospitals, which was completed and started patient admission, was inaugurated.

AK Party Kayseri Deputy Şaban Çopuroğlu, Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, President of the Administrative Court Ferid Cengiz, ERU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Oktay Özkan and M. Hakan Poyrazoğlu, Secretary General Prof. Dr. İbrahim Narin, Assistant Secretaries General Prof. Dr. Afşın Alper Cerit and Dr. Oktay Musa Kayırga, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. İsmail Dursun, Provincial Director of National Education Coşkun Esen, Chief Physician of Medical Faculty Hospitals Prof. Dr. İbrahim Halil Kafadar, academic and administrative staff attended the opening ceremony.

Delivering a speech at the ceremony, AK Party Kayseri Deputy Şaban Çopuroğlu said that Erciyes University is a brand of Kayseri. He also stated that new hospital buildings and new constructions will continue to be built in the future.

Mayor Büyükkılıç pointed out that they are proud of the ERU Faculty of Medicine and continued as follows: “Kayseri has come to the forefront in the field of health, but Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine is number one. We are proud of it. Of course, it makes us happy to benefit from medical services here and mention about the faculty when talking about this city.”

Rector Altun gave information about the new emergency annex building. Pointing out that the total closed area of the emergency annex building is 4.800 square meters, our Rector said: “When considering the increasing population and needs of the city, we now have an emergency building where we have increased the capacity by more than 100%. We provide service for red and yellow area patient intervention in this new additional service building. The current emergency building provides service as a green area with a capacity of 44 beds”.

He also thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Budget İbrahim Şenel, senior officials in Kayseri and those who contributed to the construction of annex building and underlined that it was in service for two weeks.

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. İsmail Dursun said that medical faculties and hospitals work in cooperation in educational and healthcare activities. He said, “The new emergency building is useful for the city. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this process.”

İbrahim Halil Kafadar, Chief Physician of Medical Faculty Hospitals, said that they aim to provide service to all patients in a more spacious environment.
