ERU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, who has been continuing his student-oriented activities since the day he took office, came together with the representatives of the student clubs of our university and listened to their demands and requests.

Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Oktay Özkan and Prof. Dr. Cevdet Kırpık, Secretary General Prof. Dr. İbrahim Narin, Assistant Secretary General Prof. Dr. Afşın Alper Cerit, Student Projects and Competitions Coordinator Asst. Prof. İmdat Orhan and representatives of clubs attended the meeting held at the Rectorate Conference Hall.

Making a speech during the event, Rector Altun gave information about the student activities conducted at the university. He also underlined that their doors are always open to the students and they attach great importance to the students’ activities. Stating that it is essential for the students to participate in the clubs considering their abilities, Rector Altun said that they would organize Campus Days again this year, as they did last year, to promote student clubs. He told that they, as the university management, were doing their best to spend time with students. He pointed out that they would visit all faculties the following week and that they would continue to listen to the students’ demands and requests. He also stated that time passes quickly and what is important is to spend time efficiently.

Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Oktay Özkan said that they would try to solve the problems of students listening to their demands. Underscoring that the students’ ideas were valuable in the organization of activities, Professor Özkan pointed out that Erciyes University was included in many of the research and sustainability themes. He stated that they wanted the students to participate in projects and make suggestions and said: “We will present sustainable water flasks to our students who apply for TUBITAK 2209 projects. We actually use all our resources for you, our students. Your requests and demands from us are always important for us.”

Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Cevdet Kırpık stated that they always attach importance to contributing to the activities of student clubs to the extent possible. He said: “The more activities you do as student clubs and the more you come together with students, the happier we will be. We are always with you in your activities and we will always support you.”

Secretary General Prof. Dr. İbrahim Narin said: “We are always ready to help you. You are important to us.”

Assistant Secretary General Prof. Dr. Afşın Alper Cerit stated that they attach importance to supporting all kinds of activities and that their doors are always open for one-to-one meetings.

Student Projects and Competitions Coordinator Asst. Prof. İmdat Orhan informed the students about the activities of the coordination office.
