Making a speech during the event, Rector Altun said that the protocol aims to raise awareness on dyslexia and provide better quality education for the individuals with dyslexia. He said: “In fact, socialization, giving value to society and human beings, and education and training processes are among the most important topics of universities, as well as our national education and associations. In this context, our duty is to participate in such projects that will add value not only to Kayseri, but also to our country and even the whole humanity because Erciyes University is an institution that has been active in these fields since its establishment in 1978 and has been trying to act in an integrated manner with the city.”
Provincial Director of National Education Coşkun Esen said that Erciyes University is the center of science and knowledge.
Esen said, “We regard knowledge as our lost property and wherever we find it and wherever we believe it is, we endeavor to take it and run towards it. This will be the case from now on. It is crucial for us to be interested in children with learning disabilities. Any child in the society who needs education in any field is an area of interest for national education. Therefore, we are endeavoring how we can provide them with better education and how we can manage this process under the guidance of the university.”
President of the Dyslexia Learning Disability Association Ekrem Çalgın gave information about the activities of the association and thanked those who contributed to the organization of the protocol.
Following the speeches, Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, Provincial Director of National Education Coşkun Esen and President of the Dyslexia Learning Disability Association Ekrem Çalgın signed the cooperation protocol.
The protocol aims to inform the society and students thanks to the trainings and raise awareness about dyslexia learning disabilities and to raise the awareness of teachers by planning a training program for teachers working in Kayseri in cooperation with Erciyes University.
