The opening ceremony for the Outpatient Clinic Entrance and Blood Sample Collection Units of the Gevher Nesibe Hospital, renovated with the support of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, was held.

Governor of Kayseri Gökmen Çiçek, Kayseri Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, ERU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Oktay Özkan, M. Hakan Poyrazoğlu and Prof. Dr. Cevdet Kırpık, Secretary General Prof. Dr. İbrahim Narin, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. İsmail Dursun, Chief Physician of Hospitals Prof. Dr. İbrahim Halil Kafadar, Assistant Secretaries General Prof. Dr. Afşın Alper Cerit and Dr. Oktay Musa Kayırga and academics attended the ceremony.

Making a speech at the opening ceremony, Governor Gökmen Çiçek stated that Erciyes University is a source of pride and said: “Erciyes University is really our pride especially with the breakthroughs of Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun. When we went to Ankara, we realized how valuable it was in the academic community. Our university has always been among the top institutions recently thanks to its studies. We have always been proud of it. When it is talked about the universities and Erciyes University is mentioned, I proudly expect that it is already at the top and it is always the case as I have thought. Thus, I would like to thank our Rector for his support and congratulate his team.”

Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç underlined that Kayseri is a city of benefactors. He said: “We try to enable the people to have service in a more comfortable and peaceful environment. In this respect, there is a sense of trust. Erciyes University is a brand. We are also proud of the Faculty of Medicine. As a municipality, it is our duty to do our part.”

Rector Altun said that Erciyes University was lucky as there were many benefactors in the city. He thanked Mayor Büyükkılıç for his support in the renovation of outpatient clinics and continued as follows: “Renovations increase the quality of service we provide for our patients. I think that investments for people are very valuable. I would like to thank Governor Gökmen Çiçek and Mayor Büyükkılıç for their support.”

Our Rector, who also gave the good news that the tender process of the new hospital building to be built for the university has been completed, said: “We have completed the tender processes regarding the new hospital project and received approval. Hopefully, we will implement the project design tender in a few weeks.”

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. İsmail Dursun thanked Mayor Büyükkılıç for his contribution. He said: “We are happy to provide service for our patients in such a conducive atmosphere.”

Chief Physician Prof. Dr. İbrahim Halil Kafadar said: “The outpatient clinics entrance and blood sample collection units were renovated with the support of the Metropolitan Municipality. We had the chance to provide service for our patients in a more comfortable area.”
