Panel on Understanding and Commemorating Atatürk

A panel on Understanding and Commemorating Atatürk was held in cooperation with the Governor’s Office of Kayseri and ERU Institute of Atatürk’s Principles and Turkish Revolution History.

Making the opening speech of the panel held at the conference hall of the Faculty of Letters, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Cevdet Kırpık said: “Atatürk’s talent and intelligence were undoubtedly very strong.”

Following the opening speeches, Prof. Dr. Hava Selçuk, a faculty member at the Faculty of Letters, made a presentation entitled, “Turkish Women During Atatürk’s Era”, moderated by Prof. Dr. Remzi Kılıç, a faculty member at the Faculty of Education. Emphasizing that women had a crucial role in every period of Turkish history, Professor Selçuk talked about the role of women in society and the rights they gained during Atatürk’s era.

Assoc. Prof. Neslihan Altuncuoğlu, Director of the Institute of Atatürk’s Principles and Turkish Revolution History, made a presentation on “Atatürk’s Visits to Kayseri and The Echoes of His Death in Kayseri”.
