The event started with a moment of silence and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem. Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Serdar Çam gave an opening lecture on “Public Diplomacy in the World and in Türkiye”.

Stating that he was happy to come together with the students, Deputy Minister Dr. Serdar Çam said: “We are in a dynamic world. What we learn today does not make sense tomorrow and what we learn tomorrow may be insufficient later. For this reason, it is important for me to have conversations with young people and to interact with them to get their opinions and ideas."

AK Party Kayseri Deputy Dr. Murat Cahid Cıngı said in his speech that the ERU Faculty of Tourism is an important educational institution that educates students for the rapidly developing tourism sector.

Rector Altun thanked Deputy Minister Dr. Serdar Çam and delivered a speech and said: “Erciyes University is conducting studies in every field from health to engineering and from agriculture to social fields. The ERU Faculty of Tourism achieves success and we support to increase these achievements. We are proud of the tourism reports announced. The accomplishments gained thanks to such activities in the tourism sector contribute significantly to development of the country.”

Underscoring that ERU is not only an institution carrying out activities on campus but it also contributes to the city, country and all humanity, Rector Altun thanked the philanthropists and senior officials in Kayseri.

Dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr. Kenan Güllü gave information about the faculty.

Following the speeches, Rector Altun presented a plaque to Deputy Minister Dr. Serdar Çam.
